Early Head Start

Crayon Kids is proud to partner in our 0-3 program with Early Head Start (EHS). All of our students ages 0 to 36 months are required to enroll in our EHS program.

We have 2 collaborative partners:

Maternity Care Coalition (MCC)

-located here in Norristown

Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU)

-located in Coatesville, Pa.

These two programs assist us in providing resources for families within our center. Not only do they assist in providing quality care to our families, but they also support out families' needs at home and assist in job placements.

The Early Head Start program is for working families or families in school that are currently receiving subsidy. We can also provide support while on the subsidy wait list! Call for details.

Preschool and Pre-K

Crayon Kids Preschool and Pre-K program is our private school dedicated to school readiness for students 3 to 5 years of age. Crayon Kids has been serving the families and community of Norristown for 30 years. We pride ourselves on preparing our students for formal schooling.

Pre-K Counts

Crayon Kids is proud to be part of Pennsylvania's Pre-K Counts (PKC) program for children ages 3-5 years old. This program is FREE with qualifications.

The program runs from 8:30 A.M. until 2:30 P.M,

Monday through Friday.

Before and after care for PKC can be paid by ELRC subsidy or private payment if needed. The Pre K Counts program is a high quality program for children to prepare for formal schooling. Our teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education with bachelor and master degrees. We are supported by Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) located in Coatesville PA.

Our Staff

Our staff consists of a team of degreed, certified or highly trained professionals with many years of experience in the area of child development.

Staff members are certified in First Aid, CPR, and receive 24 or more hours of training in the field of child development.

Three times yearly we offer parents the opportunity to meet with their child's teacher to discuss their ongoing development and progress. However, our staff is always available to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have on any given day.

Curriculum

Our programs are based on the development of each individual child. We proudly use the Creative Curriculum, and Owl, as well as other programs recognized for their excellence in the early childhood community.

Our curriculum consists of reading readiness, math readiness, whole language skills, social studies, science, art, cooking, self help skills, & health and safety.

The children have the opportunity to expand their world through field trips and in-house visitors, such as Mighty Tots, Music Day, Mad Science, & Classroom Adventures Story Tellers.

Parent Information Sessions

Crayon Kids provides parent information sessions and trainings through out the school year.

We strive to help families grow strong and healthy children.

Dual Language Learners

The Norristown area is home to many bilingual families. At Crayon Kids, many of our teachers speak both Spanish and English! We strive to create a welcoming learning space for our dual language learners!
